The Cloquet Youth Soccer Association is proud to announce the winners of the 2020 Cloquet Soccer Student Scholarship Scholarship Awards. Each student has received $500 to assist them with their continuing education.
Kathryn Owens
Kate has played soccer for 13 years, coming up through CYSA in the youth and competitive programs. She was also a 4-year Varsity soccer letter winner, and captain her senior year. She feels soccer, and being part of team sports, has made her a true team player and helped develop her leadership skills.
Kate was also a 4-year Varsity basketball player, captaining that team her senior year as well. Kate finished her high school career with a 4.0+ GPA, and was a member of Link Crew, the Junior & Senior Executive Boards, Student Council, and was involved with the Fall Musical. She will be attending the University of Wisconsin- Madison in the fall to pursue a degree in business.
Ryan Conway
Ryan has played soccer for 13 years, coming up through CYSA in the youth and competitive programs. He was a 3-year Varsity soccer letter winner, and captain his senior year. Ryan was a member of the All-Star team his senior year, and also named LSC All-Conference Honorable Mention. He feels soccer has taught him patience, self-discipline, and leadership skills he can take into his future career. Ryan also participated in track, nordic skiing, tennis, and the club volleyball team. He finished high school with a 3.5 GPA. He will be attending the University of Wisconsin- Superior in the fall to pursue a degree in computer science.
The Board wishes the best of luck to these two award recipients and hopes that our soccer program added to their growth and development of good personal skills. We hope that they will have success in the future.
