What to Expect:

 Competitive soccer is for players ready for a higher level of commitment. Practice starts in March with play running into July.

• League play plus 3–4 weekend tournaments
• Midweek travel required
• Playing time not guaranteed
• Placement may be determined by tryout evaluation

Players are expected to commit fully to league and tournament participation.

Player evaluations will be held in late October 2026. Date will be determined based on MSHSL season end date and communicated after registration is closed.

CYSA will be using Play Metrics for communication, schedules, etc. Please go to your respective app store and download.

For competitive boys, register through the CEC football club

What to Expect: Tournament Only is designed for players seeking a higher level of competition beyond recreational soccer.

• Two practices per week
• 2–4 weekend tournaments
• Travel and possible overnight stays
• Equal playing time (½ game minimum)
• No tryouts; teams formed first-come

Teams depend on registration numbers and coach availability.

Following extensive review and discussion, US Youth Soccer, AYSO, and US Club Soccer have collectively decided to move to an age group player formation cycle that runs from August 1 to July 31, starting with the 2026-2027 season/registration year. This change was made based on additional critical feedback, data, and expert input to better align players with their school-grade peers. Our associations feel that this age group player formation will be the most inclusive and help increase participation. Learn more here.
